Keftab and Keflex

Usage and Class

Keftab and Keflex refer to cephalosporins, one of the most frequently prescribed classes of antibiotics. These medicines are used for treating bacterial infections of various kinds. Among common indications for their use are infections of the urinary and the reproductive systems, bacterial problems with the skin and bones, the middle ear, the respiratory apparatus.

Keflex must always be taken for the entire period as prescribed by your physician. Note that you might feel better before the infection is completely cured. Disregard of this rule may result in decreasing the effectiveness of your treatment. Moreover, there are good chances of increased bacteria resistance to Keflex and similar medicines.

Missed Dose

After missing a tablet or a suspension dose, take it as soon as you will be able to. If it is nearly the time for your next dose, take the next dose 6 hours later (if you were prescribed two doses a day). If your recommendation is three or more doses, the time for the next dose will be after 2–4 hours (or you may skip this one and take a double dose next time). Do not forget to keep to your regular scheme after that.

Storage Rules

Room temperature is strongly recommended for storage of tablets and pills. Unused liquid suspension is kept in a refrigerator. After opening the suspension, keeping time is not more than 14 days.
