Noroxin is used to treat a variety of urinary tract bacterial infections, including cystitis and prostatitis. It is also used in patients with certain venereal diseases (such as gonorrhea). Please, note that Noroxin is not a drug of choice for treating syphilis. Moreover, it can mask or delay its manifestations when taken in large doses in case of gonorrhea. This is why additional tests may be needed before and after a course of Noroxin in patients with gonorrhea.

Do not forget that Noroxin is not suited for treating viral infections including the common cold and flu.

Taking and Skipped Dose

Take your medicine with plenty of water. It should be taken an hour before or two hours after a meal (or a drink of milk). Keep to the recommendations of a healthcare professional as for the dosage.

Noroxin must always be taken for the entire period as prescribed by your physician. Note that you might feel better before the infection is completely cured. Disregard of this rule may result in decreasing the effectiveness of your treatment. Moreover, there are good chances of increased bacteria resistance to Noroxin and similar medicines.

In case you failed to take Noroxin, do it as soon as you will be able to. If it is less than 2 hours before your next dose, just forget it and keep to your regular scheme. Double dose is not recommended.

Storage Rules

Room temperature is strongly recommended for storage of Noroxin. Keep your medicine tightly closed and away from children and pets.
