Safety information about Hytrin (terazosin)
As your blood pressure lowers when taking Hytrin, dizziness or fainting are among its most common side effects. Be especially careful during the first few days or after a break in treatment. A good recommendation is to start taking Hytrin in bed (for instance, before falling asleep). In case of light-headedness, continue to take it at bedtime. Please, be careful when sitting up in your bed or standing up from it as you may feel quite dizzy after first few doses.
Special attention should be made to patients with a planned cataract surgery as Hytrin can affect the pupils of your eyes. Do not forget to notify the surgeon beforehand if you are treated with Hytrin. If it is better to stop using the medicine before surgery, you will be asked to by your doctor.
